The gasket is reusable until it hardens / shrinks / crushes out. A small bit of RTV where there are internal corners / 1/2 circle cam plugs is used to prevent weeping.

If you are trying to get a gasket to go one more time, a _thin_ wipe if RTV can be used. However, expect much time consuming clean up when you put the next gasket on.
