Did anyone see This Old HOuse the other night? They were using mineral wool to insulate a house, and did an accoustic test that was unbelievable! They also make this stuff in pads. Best of all, its totally non-combustable (they melted a penny on it with a blow torch).

I'm thinking, if I can find some, it might be a great material for a hood pad.

any thoughts?
