While it is not my intention to hijack the thread I would like to comment on the New Jersey race.
Republicans are touting this as an endorsement for Republicans. I doubt this. I would suggest it is more of a big win for Gov. Christie.
During the 1980 election cycle Reagan won by no less than a true landslide, but this was not a case of Democrats suddenly embracing Republican concepts. It was due to Democrats seeing someone who could make things work running for office, and that is who they voted for. During Reagan's re-election run he was seen as someone who had taken a bad situation and, due to hard work, made it better. The key words here are hard, work and better.
If Gov. Christie can continue to maintain his work record and continue to reject the influence of groups that think they know better than he how to run New Jersey then he may have a shot at the landing the top of the Republican ticket in 2016. I would say he has the VP spot wrapped up now.
