Camshafts nos. 08/09 can be used in any M116/117 engines that are equipped with hydraulic compensators. They are fairly short duration, low lift cams that help to reduce emissions at the expense of performance.

If you are referring to W126 chassis in citing "Gen 1, and Gen 2", that distinction does not enter into the application of the cams.
