SLS Before and After

My newly acquired 300td was showing some serious sagging in the rear end. I popped open the hydraulic oil reservoir, noticed that it was very low, topped it off, and voila!

Of course, the fact that it was so low probably speaks to a slow leak somewhere, but for now, this is a marked improvement. Also, I think this might help prove that the SLS is indeed important for keeping a resting height and that it's not the springs which are primarily responsible.

The first picture is in my driveway, before being topped off. The second is after topping it off and driving around for a while, and the third is back in the driveway after all of that. I'll probably update it tomorrow morning so I can compare to see if fluid is escaping.
