Mainly it has to do with their complete lack of comprehension of what the phrase "Separation of church and state" means. If they want to teach a class called "Alternatives to Rational Thinking" then I welcome them to teach whatever the hell they want. When the class is called "Science" then science is what needs to be taught regardless of whether that conflicts with what you choose to believe.
