According to this Wiki link that would not be correct. While TX does have a large GDP, it would rank 14th not 4th. Even our smallest state VT, would rank 103rd out of 185 countries.

I imagine there are quite a few other factors that would come into play. Would the TX GDP shrink from lack of federal spending among other things.

TX GDP is $1.5 trillion out of $15 trillion. Yes it would probably leave a mark but I say we let them leave. I know I am not alone in in the thought that if Texas leaves the union, I would leave Texas.
