Some Conservatives have constantly stated that their opposition to abortion is due to the 'fact' that taxpayer money is used for this procedure. This, in their viewpoint, settles the argument in their favor.

And yet when anyone speaks out against using taxpayer dollars to teach religion in school Conservative quickly point out that anyone opposed to this must feel threatened by it. Again, to them this settles the argument.
