OK, I'll bite....Can you explain why race-based violence is, or should be treated differently than "ordinary" violence. If I have been shot/ mugged/ murdered, does it hurt less if the perps were the same race as me?
How many crimes are NOT "hate" related? Does it matter? Do we punish actions, or intents?
