If the Democrats weren't such a bunch of tools, I'd be all for the GOP fading into oblivion. They are, so I'd prefer some sort of roadblock to prevent single party rule. Both parties fading into oblivion would be ideal.
In fact, I'd love to see party affiliation go away completely. Just names on ballot, in random order. It'll never happen of course, because the sizable number of numb nuts on the right and left wouldn't know who to vote for without that party line. We certainly can't expect them to research the candidates and their positions.
The GOP's issue is that their dependents likely have the financial edge but there aren't enough of them.
