Perhaps someone else can confirm, but from what I am seeing in the pic, you have a vacuum line running out of the lower part of the VCV, on the side.

On my car(s) that is a bleed vent, so unless that is a short piece of plastic vacuum line stuck in there, your lines are hooked up incorrectly.

HOWEVER, as you say the car shifts fine... well who am I to argue ?
