what a weird sentence. Extreme leniency, but the state is not releasing this SOB to his parents because he suffers from "affluenza"
Quote:
Couch was sentenced by a juvenile court judge Tuesday. If he violates the terms of his probation, he could face up to 10 years of incarceration, according to a statement from the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney's Office.
Judge Jean Boyd told the court she would not release Couch to his parents, but would work to find the teen a long-term treatment facility.

interesting verdict, as I can't help but agree that the judge has a point about blaming indulging spoiling parents for a stupid spoiled kid who ends up killing people. Still, at the same time she's rewarded the same too wealthy for consequences mentality she says they suffer from.
