I have had good luck removing old tint residue with a spray bottle filled with warm water and mild dish soap, and of course a little elbow grease with a cotton or linen cloth.
Lighter fluid is also a great way to remove the adhesive residue, if you don't want to do much scrubbing... Just don't smoke!
