They are fascinated by it. My daughter, the artistic one of the bunch, has really been having fun with her stylistic application. And they aren't a bunch of knuckle-heads, intellectually speaking. I think CT is/(was?) so caught up in mastery test results and the ramifications that came with not meeting state standards that some things were deemed less important so they could focus on teaching to the test.
Admittedly, I haven't written in cursive to any degree since elementary school.
Edit: OK, so I did write in cursive in my example above.
