1991 300E 3.0L 225K miles

Well, yesterday morning, after driving the car around town on errands, I found a puddle of coolant under the car. Since I have the plastic part that protects the bottom of the engine, it was pooling on that peice before spilling over resulting in the puddle.
I checked the expansion tank and it was empty. When I poured a small amount of coolant into the tank, it poured right out onto the driveway. I could definitely see a stream of coolant coming out from where the water pump meets the block.

Water pump or is there a gasket between the pump and block?
