Oh, sorry, I just realized I was unclear. The bearing + hub come as an assembly, and when I spin it in my hand (just holding it in my hand, not installed or anything), it makes a clicking noise.
It's a FWD car with a solid rear axle, and when it started making noise in the rear on left turns and then howling in the left rear on the highway, I decided that it was time to replace the left rear wheel bearing.
