A few things here, some which I would have thought you would have noticed already.
1.God alone is God. Humans are not God. It is nonsense to make the argument of "well, God does it... so I should be able to as well."
2.God, IMO does not "cause" abortions all the time. Yes, one could say that he caused it by not acting. But I would suggest that if one was to blame God for spontaneous abortions or miscarriages en toto, then God would also be to blame for all other things, good or bad.
1.1 God, if one is allowing that idea in this conversation (you've already recognized the concept in arguing the above), is different than humans and must in some way have more foresight, wisdom, knowledge or better judgement than his creation. Blaming Him for doing something evil your eyes while not taking into account his more informed and experienced view is childish.
1.2 I believe this world to be a fallen one, that is that nature was at an earlier point more perfect (Hebrew "tamiym", not the Latin "perfectus") than this age. It is not just the humans whose natures have been tainted by sin, but also the natural world. Disease is a good indicator of this. And therefore I’d put the blame on humans, not God for the majority of spontaneous abortions.
