One of the companies that provides services to my employer - a large, global, multi-billion dollars revenue per year company - sets up customer login accounts with the default password reset.

I tried, on 5 separate occasions, to go through their website's password reset routine - each and every time, regardless of what I'd change my password to (and regardless of the email I'd receive saying my password had been reset): the password would remain reset.

So I asked my contacts at the company. I asked my colleagues at my employer. The response was always the same: "yeah, it always does that. My password is the same."

Sigh. So much for data protection.
