30 years ago, buying a Macintosh meant you were signing up for limited software and hardware, while on the IBM/DOS side, there were options galore. Nothing was actually "cheap" back then on either platform, but there was just more energy on the PC side of things. True, if you wanted PostScript printing and AppleTalk networking, it was a great opportunity, but it was still a booming PC desktop world in 1984.
