I recall the 1981 snow jam in Atlanta. Humorous is all the Yankees who said "people down here can't drive in the snow". You ask where their car is and they say "stuck, had to walk home". Nobody can drive on a sheet of ice, as the South often gets. I recall a 1987 icing in Atlanta when I drove past a 4WD Jeep that was spinning tires on a freeway bridge, as I drove slowly and surely by in my FWD Aries. I-80 here in the Sierras is similar. Idiots from states like Utah would balk at putting on chains to cross Donner Pass, then slide off the road into a ditch, so CA started strictly enforcing it. You stil see fools speeding in 4WD vehicles who think they are immune, but don't realize that all vehicles have "4 wheel braking", so they are no safer.
