I don't think that is what I wrote at all, Adriel. My point simply was that, if this guy's threat focuses your attention on the oil loss issue, and you solve it before it becomes a problem that could cause a catastrophic engine failure due to oil loss, then the person has (indirectly) done you a favour.
Two gallons of oil in about six weeks is a very serious oil leak.
