It would be easier to do things like France does:
All religions come to city hall to sign a civil union contract. If they don't they are not considered married in the eyes of the state and cannot divorce, sue etc.
After that, if you want to have any kind of religious ceremony or go out to the fields and frolic with Nature, that's up to you.
Or go to a go kart track and spend the day, the government doesn't care.
THEY STAY OUT OF IT
