The remote start can certainly work with diesels. Just take it to any decent shop who are certified to install DEI units. The reason I say this is because Viper won't warrant installs done privately. For info regarding installations, take a look at www.the12volt.com
I'd really suggest you get this done professionaly to save yourself the hassle, and to keep the lifetime warranty provided by DEI units (which includes viper).
