If you can get it up on a lift you should be able to figure it out in no time. Unplug the ESP hydraulic unit to prevent traction system intervention and have a helper run it up to speed while you locate the noise. A stethoscope with a long probe will make this easy. I do stuff like this all the time to diagnose wheel bearings, diff's, driveshaft bearings, etc.
