I think a Dynomometer measures power at specific rpms.. then the chart of that would be the 'power band'..

The tach only measures RPM... you have to know what RPM you want to be in from charts from the Factory Shop manual or other sources....

Yes, it was a VW Karman Ghia , drove it for years without the speedo... without a fuel gauge either... bummer...
