w124-replacing ASR/idle control switch on gas pedal

My '93 300ce goes into limp mode, and the yellow ASR light comes on.

This began after I went through a deep puddle of water and teh ASR and ABS lights lit up. I thought the water might have shorted out some circuits since the car does not have the protective undershield. I first cleaned the front wheel speed sensors - no change. Next I checked the OVP - although the fuse was not blown I replaced the OVP. That cleared the ABS light.

I still have intermittent ASR/limp mode. Hopefully its not the ETA & its degraded wiring. I'm thinking/hoping the culprit is not the ETA and degraded wiring but instead is the inexpensive ASR/idle control switch on the gas pedal. I'm going to have the codes read this weekend, but I'd like to know how to replace that switch. Has anyone done that? Thanks.
