A good ATF is the Valvoline Dexron VI or Multi-vehicle synthetic. I use either with no issues. Approx fill for that transmission is 7 quarts if you fully drain the pan and torque converter and change filter.

To re-fill, pour in about 3 quarts, start engine, pour in 4 more while its idling. Run through the gears a couple times and drive till its warm. Check fluid level again (on flat ground, idling, in Park) and add any additional as needed. Usually total fill comes to around 7.2 to 7.4 qt.
