Canada has 1/10th the population of the USofA, with very low homicide rates. About 150 people per year are murdered with firearms, and nearly all of those are criminals shooting criminals. To legally own firearms and purchase ammo in Canada one must have a firearms license which requires taking a safety course and passing a written and practical exam. The people who have firearms licenses are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet, and they don't do violent things with firearms. It's a different culture with different attitudes than the USofA.
