What symptoms are you having?

The Cam sensor is used to sync injectors to intake valve opening. Proper sync gives a smoother idle. I can't say 100% that the cam sensor is used for another function on your car but it should run with it unplugged before the engine is started. Other brands only look at the cam sensor during cranking and not while running.

And, it should trip a new code if 22 isn't the cam code.

If the crank sensor is bad, it shouldn't run as engine RPM / "what pair of cylinders is up, fire that ignition coil pair" is determined by that sensor.
