When I was in the Army in Germany for anyone living in the Barracks all privately owned Firearms were locked in the Arms Room and when you wanted to use it you had to file some forums to get it out.
Where I was the only Guards Armed where Arms Room and the Ammo Dump Guards (Ammo Dump was not in the same Facility).
I have seen Military Police who were Armed but We had none where I was Based.

So, now let me be sure I understand.... on a military base where people are trained to handle arms safely and to kill with them, people are not trusted to carry around arms but all kinds of folks demand the privaledge of carrying around weapons in the general public? ...with no training whatever required?
