That's not what diesel said. We were not allowed to carry our personal firearms. For certain duty, certain people carried weopons, sometimes even with a live magazine of live rounds in place, but no round in the chamber.
Like diesel said, if you had say a skeet gun, it was locked up and you checked it out when you went to the skeet range.
