Reverse, assuming you have the 5-speed manual, by lifting up on the shifter and putting it in the top left gate.

If lifting doesn't engage it put a couple drops of light oil such as transmission fluid between the shifter rod and the tube that lifts. I hope this makes sense... in other words oil the two sliding parts.
