Early shifters have Reverse down and to the far right. Later shifters have reverse down and to the left. Also the early shifters push down to get into reverse, the later shifters pull up to get into reverse.

Reverse up and to the left would only be the 16V dogleg box.

Did the trans and shifter come from the same car?
