Why is that term so offensive? It sure seems to set you on fire, but I am not using it for that matter. There are many terms I've used over the years that turn out to be offensive to sensitive people. In the seventies I worked with an Asian man who called himself "oriental." So, I used that term for years thinking I was being respectful until someone pointed out that Asian was the preferred term. I meant no disrespect to anyone and I changed my language to accommodate the PC term.

I don't believe there are any of those here. (could be an exception or two...IDK)
Using that term in rebuttal during a debate with a person who is not an addict is childish and indicative of a lost argument.
Maybe you have never known a drug addict.
It is not pretty.
And not an appropriate retort in an otherwise civil discussion.
