That's it in a nutshell. They aren't going to invest in increased .22 production. It's not worth the investment. I see a very long term shortage unless the number of new shooters somehow falls off. Who's in the White House won't affect it. The days of popping into the LGS on your way to the range for a box of .22 are over.
