Disassembled the passenger side door latch mechanism to try to figure out why lock would not work. Found the linkage from the door handle to the latch mechanism broken and lock action locked up. The part where the broken linkage goes at the latch end was bent out of line from the mechanism that it actuates. Straightened all this out and freed it up.

It looks like something is going on with the latch locking action. I can simulate locking the door then latching it and it will be locked and will unlock. If I latch the mechanism it won't lock because it seems to hang up on area where I have the arrow pointed. Anyone ever seen this before? What is the fix? Replacement of the latch mechanism? Any cheap and easy resolution?
