Most have Russian tractor diesels and the interiors are stripped, although you do see a few nice ones that have been properly restored.

We had a 49 Ford convertible as our taxi in Havana with a Russian tractor diesel on the hood.


The drivers said they smuggle most of the parts in from FL and just about everything else, what they can't get is made. Most of the interiors are hacked together from various other more modern junkyard cars. Hyundai dash board and Mazda steering wheel in an old Chevy is common.

Havana is an awesome city.
