For the E320 you should be able to bolt up a 150A alternator. That's the biggest that I've seen that fits. Swap over the pulley for your original alternator.

I believe the M104 has same mounting provisions as the M103.

I have a 143 and 150 installed in my 190E and 300D.

You'll of course need to upgrade the wiring to the battery as the stock wiring is too small for the higher currents.
