No, we're not get another one any time soon...we have 2 other boxers still with us. One is 1 month younger than Slider was, and the other will be 5 in July. The older one has his health issues, but will likely be with us for another year. No need for another dog just yet.

I will have to say that tonight was the first night in a long time that I didn't feel as protected and secure as Slider made me feel at night. He would become the sentry when I went to bed, and would walk through the house, taking turns laying by one of the exterior doors. The other two dogs are too goofy to protect the house...both of them are way too friendly and outgoing. Slider was always leery of people he didn't know while the other two have never met a stranger they didn't like.
