I am hoping I can claim the same. From what I have read over the years, finding one that has been meticulously maintained (as with any old Mercedes) is the key. I was not picky when I bought my 87 diesel, spent only $1500 on the car and within 2 years racked up $4000 in repair bills doing the work myself! Granted that car drives like a dream now but it was a lot of blood and sweat. This go around I decided to spend a bit more on the W140 so that I could get one that had been well-cared for...less time under the hood and more time driving .

It looks like the only elusive problem so far is the front seat heaters. Fuses check out ok and when I swapped the wiring for the relays under the back seat the rear seat heaters still worked, which tells me the relays are ok. I'll troubleshoot it more at some point here...although this time of year it doesn't really matter. I'll probably start a new thread for the problem specifically to see if I can get anywhere.
