I have used PBR Deluxe Pads back when everything was warping & have them on my VW too and they seem to work just fine. I do not think they will contribute to "warping" brake discs as long as bad calipers are present.

My alignment mechanic has a disc turning machine so I brought him a set "warped" discs to turn. He said they showed high & low spots more so than warping.
