Who's going to shoot them down and with what? This is a serious question. Forty years ago, all major metropolitan areas were surrounded with battery's of Nike Hercules surface to air missiles capable of taking out whole fleets of bombers with one round. Failing that, ARMED aircraft were at the ready to be airborne quickly.
What is there for such purposes now?
