Here in the South, the words "Please, "Thank You", "May I?", "Yes Sir", "No Sir" "Yes Ma'am" "No Ma'am", "pass the biscuits, please" are heard often. Most gentlemen still open the door for a lady and seat their women first at the dinner table. When we deal with Yankees, OTH, we rarely, if ever, hear "Please, "Thank You", "May I?" "Yes Sir". Pretty much a total lack of civility, decorum, manners and etiquette are present. Whenever I call a company for customer service and the call is taken by a representative located in Yankee land, I know that most likely I'm in for a hard time. There have been cases where they actually hung up (and still hang up) on customers.

It has been said one reason the South lost the war is because they were unwilling to hit below the belt. The North, by contrast, as seen by the tactics of one William Tecumseh Sherman, had NO problem in hitting below the belt.

Sherman's 'total war' philosophy was seen after the war when a literal battle broke out between the Chicago and New York gangs/mafia and the Ku Klux Klan. If you take the time to read any accounts of it, the Chicago/New York crew went down South and showed the Klan what REAL violence is all about. You'll have to do your own research to find out WHO ordered them to go do it and more importantly, WHY they were ordered to go do it.

Mean spirited? Mean hearted? Just plain yankee mean and cruel? I don't know but the evidence seems to indicate this is their doctrine.......

Savage is a moron and a rabble rouser. War is not nice. Period. There could plenty of ink spilt about cruelty in the south in that day.

BTW, spare me the super-sized remarks.
