i have been in the same situation you are in, i wanted an aftermarket audio player without having to alter anything original or completely hack anything up.
this hard wired FM module taps into the antenna, it goes in the between the radio and the antenna. all you need to do other than that is ground it out and tap into a constant power some where. very simple to do and the sound quality is MUCH better than those wireless FM transmitters.
