I think the safety concerns are real. There has to be tens of thousands of dollars worth of business being conducted in that house every month if not more. I hope they are smart business people and realize that violence will only hinder profit and just move on to a new location. Although, according to the landlord, he's told the tenants that people are on to them. You'd think that would be enough to spur a relocation for purely pragmatic reasons. I think part of the reason for the current location is that our neighborhood has become the hip place to be over the last few years. There are lots of music venues and the streets are packed on the weekends so the house is close to a large customer base. There's a big alternative music festival coming in a few weeks, perhaps they are looking for some good income from that.
