The main draw of an '85 is the 2.88 rear end. Other than that the differences from other years don't really increase its desirability. If it's a rust bucket and your '82 isn't, I'd go ahead and use it for parts.
Second thought: You mentioned "flat headlights". I'm not sure what that means, but Euro was brought up as a possibility. If they car is a euro model, that opens up an entirely different can of worms.
