sounds like clogged solenoids or leaking solenoid O rings. (was told by a transmission mechanic who works in chrysler dealership)

btw - its odd that your transmission controller is not shutting down as the transmission very closely reads the in and out speed sensors, it even reads the "shift achieved" timing.
