Yup, did that forty years ago, never regretted it one bit.
Simplicity is why I own a late 80s diesel Landcruiser. The only computer is in the CD player. Vehicles like the Cruiser and Benz are made to be repaired and maintained, not discarded for the newest piece of crap with gimmicky bells and whistles.
