When I was looking at the 1960's Japanese vehicles, It struck me how much the Japanese must have been cribbing design ideas from British manufacturers. Probably logical, as RHD Brit cars would have been good candidates for the Japanese market. Then I looked at the Toyota 2000GT, and while it can be argued that the Jaguar E-Type may have been the inspiration, the execution certainly foretold the ability of the Japanese to build a world-class car.
