I got success with my potentiometer. After accessing it, i took some computer electronic-board cleaner spray, and sprayed the crap out of that thing. looks like there was a bunch of corrosion build up. after a thorough spray, the dimmer worked good as new. Dims low and bright.

I even used the spray on my touchy dome light triggers in the door jambs. now my dome light turns on when i open the door.
